It was more than an
exceptional case with Sankar’s entry in the school what Master Kandalir found
about him. In one unforgettable case Sankar had given supernatural evidence to
Master Kandalir. This strange incident occurred when once Kandalir instructed
the boys to compose a beautiful poem. Though other gave their level best to
compose a beautiful poem but some even failed to attempt it. None of the
composition appeared to be in complete form though some tried to scribble out
best verses. Astonishingly Sankar made a complete poem.
What astounded the Master was not his effort in making a
complete composition with good verses but the hidden higher spiritual concept
in the poem without utilizing any vowel. Reading his composition of poem left Mahendra
speechless as he didn't find words to express his brilliance. He felt that it
was like word game for Sankar. To challenge such a composition was caliber of
none on earth till yet. It is the first of the kind case that such a
composition had been produced by anybody in the world. The poem was read out to
all in the class
karatala kamala kamaladala nayana |
bhavadava dahana gahana vana xayana ||
napara napara para xatarata gamaya |
xabhaya mabhaya bhaya xamahara xatataya ||
kharatara varaxara hatadaxa vadana |
khagachara nagadhara fanadhara xayana ||
jagadagha mapahara bhavabhaya tarana |
parapada layakara kamalaja nayana ||
The composition reflects in-depth connection to Hindu
religious context. Sankar beautifully depicts about the prime lord 'Vishnu' the
creator of the universe whose tender red feet rest on a lotus in an intrinsic
manner. Tender was the age of Sankar but his verses constituted unparallel
in-depth and reflects maturity of his mind as it were found to be beyond earth
and heaven's measure.
Reading these exceptional beautiful verses of Sankar for an
hour Mahendra with amazement automatically spelled out breaking his silence
that what an explicit composition which is like relishing food without any
application of oil and salt. In another exemplification Mahendra stated
Sankar’s work as an art which is simply made without a thread piece to bind it.
Generally in language we make a sentence with grammatical support but this work
of Sankar was like delivering an explicit art work without any aid of it that
is uniquely an exceptional case of all time.
Mahendra realized that this boy is not a normal one but a
supernatural being in the guise of human who can be related to demigods. So
from then onwards he gave him the 'Dev' title at the end of his name Sankar to
signify him as demigod. Instantly from that time onwards everyone started
calling him as Sankardev. From the very instance after reading the composition
Mahendra came to believe that he is surely an incarnation of God who has taken
birth as a human.
This was the great instance that Mahendra witnessed about
young Sankardev that gave him a vast exposure about his exceptional
personality. It was very evident from his performances and his deliverance of
answer to all the queries of his subject that is not possible for a normal
person to exhibit. In many cases Mahendra was often left spellbound with
mesmiration about Sankardev's scholarly caliber and deliverance of dignified
speeches. <br />
Sankardev was found to be an exceptional case of a genius,
inspirer, wise and scholar in one being that set him apart from others. The
excellent speed of grabbing knowledge made Sankardev a scholar within few span
of time. Already loaded with excessive intelligence Sankardev made an easy vent
in acquiring knowledge of tough scriptures in vedic literature that were penned
down by exceptional scholars of ancient times. It was unique of kind for the
rest to watch Sankardev grab the hard codes of religious scriptures and to
relish its hidden value that opens one's door to achieve highest spiritual
platform.
In close observance to Sankardev’s exceptional caliber to
grasp the thoughts of religious literature in such a flawless manner Mahendra
estimated him to be one day as an “Unvanquished Scholar” of all time. This
thought of Mahendra not only found to be futile but really had its evidence as
Sankardev in his scholarly pursuit succeeded in establishing himself as the
unbeatable pandit/scholar of all time in India.
